Here is a brief outline of the support Oxford Hub: Community Volunteers is able to offer:
Through our ever-growing community contacts and voluntary sector partners we are able to offer a large number of diverse volunteering opportunities. Our aim is that whatever it is you are looking for we can find you a placement that is right for you.
There is a full volunteer induction for all our volunteers. In the inductions we aim to cover everything you need to get you started. You will meet lots of other volunteers, you will learn about some of your responsibilities and sources of support, as well as getting a broader understanding of what is available and how you can make a difference (and how it will make a difference to you!)
We have a progressive volunteer training schedule offering a range of sessions from general training such as Child Protection and Safeguarding to project specific training. We aim to ensure you are as affective and safe as possible whilst volunteering on your project. We also offer bespoke training to account for the ever growing and changing needs of our volunteers.
We offer comprehensive support for all our volunteering coordinators and committee members. We have a dedicated member of staff (the lovely Ally) and can provide everything from general information packs to individual support sessions to providing.
And finally, we offer all volunteers general support including; socials and celebrations; inspiration and motivation; recognition for all the effort, as well as the hundreds of other things we will do for you to ensure you make the most of your volunteering experience – tea and biscuits included!
Oxford Hub (OxHub) is the focal point for charitable activity at Oxford University. Through events, a website and office, we can connect you with a cause to help tackle the social and environmental challenges of today.
