We are a branch of Student Hubs, a youth-led charity working across the UK to transform student involvement in charitable activities. Student Hubs seeks to act as a catalyst, empowering students to become active members of their community by promoting social action, philanthropy and volunteering.
Vision: A flourishing community of socially aware and socially active students who make a positive difference, at home or abroad, during their time at university and in their future careers.
Mission: To increase student involvement in social action and to ensure these efforts are effective and sustainable.
Why are students so important?
If we want to see a real change in social issues both in the UK and across the world then investing in young people is absolutely crucial. Students:
1) Form a large segment of society, as almost half of young people now enter into higher education
2) Are at a highly formative stage of their life. The ideas and activities that they engage with now are likely to influence their views and actions in the future
3) Have significant political influence and power as consumers and potential employees, and many will be the leadersof the future.
Oxford Hub (OxHub) is the focal point for charitable activity at Oxford University. Through events, a website and office, we can connect you with a cause to help tackle the social and environmental challenges of today.
