Ageaid is a new charity running in conjunction with Oxhub. It is geared to get student-volunteers visiting Nursing homes and Elderly day centres around Oxford.
Why should you get involved?
Elderly people are faced with the dilemma of being isolated in their homes and nursing homes. The time you can give them is enormously appreciated and will help alleviate some of the boredom and loneliness that they experience.
Not only is it a fantastic chance to escape the Oxford bubble for a couple of hours a week, but it will also look great on your CV.
What does it involve?

turned, up and coming rap artist, Emmanuel Jal
- a street fair in Gloucester Green
all in all we managed to raise a total of £50,000 for our two charities

These children, who are between 4 and 16 years old, do not speak English as their first language and often come from refugee families and those seeking asylum. University students volunteer to help improve their allotted child's English and performance in other subjects as required.
