Oxford Hub runs several conferences throughout the year, bringing together students from across the UK and beyond. These conferences give you an opportunity to learn more about social and environmental issues, to meet likeminded people and to hear from inspiring speakers who are experts in their fields. Our conferences include:
A day of speakers, panels and debates exploring the issues around international development. This year's conference focuses on young people in development, bringing together practitioners, academics, policy makers and influential young people to discuss what role can be played by the individual in international development. The Introduction to International Development takes place in Michaelmas term, visit the website here to get more information and find out more about past events.
The Oxford Climate Forum (OCF) is the country's highest-profile conference on climate change organised by students, bringing leading thinkers and doers under one roof to discuss the key environmental concerns facing the global community.
On the 3-4 February 2012, OCF got to grips with the big names and the big issues. In addition to hearing lectures by Mark Lynas, advisor on climate change to the President of the Maldives, John Vidal, environment editor for The Guardian, and Martin Kirk, head of UK campaigns for Oxfam, we tackled some of the most important questions in the climate debate through a series of interactive panel discussions.
