President - Rachel Nichols president@oxfordhub.org
Hi! I'm Rachel, I'm a second year Historian and French(ist?!) at Hertford, but my degree
tends to be slightly subsidiary to all of the other amazing things going in Oxford. Before becoming President of Oxford Hub, I spent a couple of terms co-ordinating the Hub's Community Volunteering section, and have been so excited by the Hub from the start! I'm really passionate about getting people involved and caring (I dislike apathy) and I think as students we have so much potential to do BIG THINGS. When not in Turl Street, I enjoy yoga, running, and a bit of (albeit slightly dodgy) photography and cooking good food.

Social Enterprise - Shivaangee Agrawal socialenterprise@oxfordhub.org
Hi there! My name is Shivaangee (easier than it looks) and I’m in my second year studying Japanese at Hertford. I’ve got the very exciting task of bringing the world of Social Enterprise to the Oxford Hub. Perfect for students that are ambitious and innovative, social enterprise is rapidly becoming a more sustainable and relevant route to social change! Now it’s just about getting the word out there, and taking advantage of the world-class assets that we have in Oxford... get in touch if you want to know more!
Environment - Freddie Lazell environment@oxfordhub.org
My name is Freddie. I am a second year studying English Literature at New College. My first love is being in the wilderness and this sparked my passion for environmental stewardship. My role is to support, connect and represent Oxford’s environment and sustainability groups. I will be spending a lot of time out and about in the city attending events and debates. I find nothing more interesting to chat about than our responsibility towards the planet. So, do get in touch if you begin to think in any tinge of green at all!
Turl Street Sustainability - Jonas Schoenefeld
turlstreetsustainability@oxfordhub.org
Hi, I am Jonas Schoenefeld and I am currently reading for an MPhil in Geography and Environment at Oxford University, focusing on environmental policy. Originally from Michelstadt, Germany, I hold a BA in Psycology with Minors in Environmental Studies and Spanish from Middlebury College in Vermont, USA. My role at the Oxford Hub is to make our Turl Street Building as sustainable as possible - both environmentally and socially. Working closely with Freddie and Doireann, I hope to create a platform for conversation about and implementation of sustainable solutions at the Turl Street Building and beyond. I look forward to working with you - if you would like to participate in one of our working groups or learn more about sustainability at our building and organisation, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Lauren Kutler
Hey! I'm Lauren, a Visiting student at LMH studying some combination of maths and philosophy. I come from Whitman College in the lovely and green Northwest portion of the US where I've been involved with an elementary school mentoring program, a bit of other tutoring, and an exciting Service Trips programme. Sandra Zuniga Guzman
More info about Sandra coming soon! Hi! I'm Sandra, a visiting student at St.Catherine's College studying international development. I live in the East Coast of the United States, where I also go to school at the University of Richmond. In the past, I have been involved in the organizing of volunteer and mentorship programs in the city of Richmond, and in the promotion of social justice activism and policy research among college youth. I am a research associate with the Council on Hemispheric Affairs, sometimes work as a Latin American political analyst for Russia Today, and keep busy as a researcher and student consultant on projects in the United States and Latin America. The library is a wonderful resource full of great books, reports, and magazines that can really help to inform and support your journey into volunteerism or activism! - Drop by to check out some books anytime, or join us for one of our exciting and very informal library chats, typically centered around education, development, technology and environmental sustainability!
Rights and Development Coordinator - Ellie Horrocks rightsanddevelopment@oxfordhub.org
I'm Ellie, I'm a 4th year Spanish and German student at Trinity and I'm Rights and Development Coordinator. I spent my last year abroad in Colombia where I did an internship with Human Rights Watch, and I have previously volunteered in Ecuador and Uganda. At the Hub I'm in charge of all member groups who run international volunteering projects or who campaign on Rights and Development issues. I also invite speakers to come and talk about International Development and I help organise training for member groups. Get in touch if you'd like to get involved!
Manager - Rachel Stephenson manager@oxfordhub.org
I've been working for Student Hubs full time since summer 2009, after having co-founded Oxford Hub as a student in 2007. My degree in French and Linguistics (St John's College, Oxford), which I finished in summer 2009, took me to Mayenne in France for my year abroad where I worked as a language assistant in a French high school. At the end of my year abroad, I came home to intern in the Fundraising Partnerships division of Oxfam GB, which I found fascinating. Happily, my research for Oxfam into European donors contributed to a €500,000 grant, so I took my hand to fundraising for Student Hubs during 2009-10. Now I'm working on communications, which involves working on all reporting, publicity, press and the website, alongside being the part-time Oxford Hub Manager with the lovely Hannahs, Amy and Doireann.
When I was little, I got my first taste of being charitable by dressing up and running around for NSPCC, and later completed a half-marathon wearing only a bra (www.walkthewalk.org) and skydived from 12,000 feet. As a student, I found my charity feet working for Students Supporting Street Kids, coordinating Change for Children Week and participating in a project surveying tourist sites in London and Paris for people with disabilities. Now I'm very happy to be sitting at my desk safe and sound, but in my spare time I do like a good country walk, French literature, knitting and making green things grow.
Programmes and Outreach Officer - Hannah MacDiarmid programmes@oxfordhub.org
Hannah was involved with Oxford Hub for over a year while at University before coming to work for us after graduating in 2011. As well as the Hub Hannah has been involved with campaigns for Aegis, Amnesty and UNICEF as well as doing more rowing than is strictly healthy. After taking a bit of a break from everything in order to graduate she is looking forward to getting back involved with everything the Hub has to offer and introducing the next round of students to what we do.
Support Officer - Amy Anderson support@oxfordhub.org
I'm new to the Oxford Hub this year, having finished four years studying Spanish and Portuguese at Cambridge. I'll be on hand to support our member groups and community volunteering projects – so if you want to bounce some ideas around about great new project idea, or bemoan the trials and tribulations of an exisiting one, then drop me a line!
Central Venue - Hannah Martin hannah.martin@studenthubs.org
Originally hailing from the grey slate of Waaakefield in West Yorkshire I seem to be southward bound so I'm back for a while pounding the golden cobbles of Oxford to work on Oxford Hub's exciting new project after a summer spent in Tokyo, Dublin and...Cheltenham...
I spent an inordinate amount of time in libraries sitting near the windows staring out at beautiful buildings during my degree in English at Keble so it seems right to be working on getting others to start being a little obsessed with the possibilities of another one - 16-17 Turl Street, Oxford Hub's new home from summer 2011. Having spun my way through Uni getting tangled in far too many costumes all for the sake of dramatic activity as well as lots of community projects along the way with a pretty freezing stint of rowing chucked in for good measure I'm inevitably really enjoying the variety of working for the Hub where I cover everything from marketing to green issues, licensing to menu choices! I like talking to people, being inspired by the English dictionary, having and hearing opinions, reading in the grass, discotheques, singing (in a variety of inappropriate places) and one-pot-cooking. Swing by the offices to tell me how you want this venue to change your life/the life of our sweet city with its socially enterprising ways!
