The Vice-Chancellor’s Social Impact Awards celebrate students who have made a difference in our local or global community - nominate yourself or someone else for an Award today!
Nominations are now closed
Are you committed to a cause? Have you been inspired by a friend’s socially impactful project? Do you admire someone in college for their volunteering?
The Vice-Chancellor's Social Impact Awards are presented every year to students who show exceptional achievement and commitment to positive social change.
They’re a great opportunity to be recognised for the hard work you put into making a difference - or to celebrate someone else you know’s incredible impact.
Nominations for 2018 have now CLOSED and winners will be announced on the 30th May.
Previous Awardees have been recognised for volunteering in the local community, raising funds for charity, campaigning, and carrying out research on social and environmental issues.
Anyone - whether student, University staff, or someone not associated with the University at all - can nominate someone for a Vice-Chancellor’s Social Impact Award. However, Awards are given only to students currently matriculated at the University of Oxford, of any year or course.
We are looking for any students who have demonstrated leadership, commitment, passion and proven social impact. There is no specification about where the student's project(s) is(are) and when it(they) took place, however the panel often prefers to see evidence of recent Oxford or UK impact.
Applicants are not told who has nominated them, but you are welcome to let them know yourself or to remain anonymous!
The Application Process
A nomination is submitted by the applicant, on on the applicant's behalf, by Sunday 29th April 23:00. The nomination form is quick and can be completed here.
Nominees will be contacted to congratulate them on their nomination, and asked to submit some further details on the socially impactful activities that they were nominated for.
The Oxford Hub will use this to then short-list candidates, and invite them to interview in order to learn more about them.
The information from the application and interview will be put in front of the panel, made up of senior representatives from the University and local community, who will decide on the winners!
The Awards event will be the evening of 30th May 2018.
Oxford Hub is committed to making our activities inclusive to all students. We are more than happy to make reasonable adjustments to application processes, both written and interview. Please simply reach out to Emma at email@example.com to arrange.
