The Vice-Chancellor’s Social Impact Awards celebrate Oxford University students who have made a difference in our local or global community - nominate yourself or someone else for an Award today!
Applications are now open!
Deadline 5th May
Are you committed to a cause? Have you been inspired by a friend’s socially impactful project? Do you admire someone in college for their volunteering?
The Vice-Chancellor's Social Impact Awards are presented every year to Oxford University students who show exceptional achievement and commitment to positive social change. They are a great opportunity to be recognised for the hard work you put into making a difference - or to celebrate someone else you know’s incredible impact.
Awards are given to individuals either currently matriculated at or visiting the University of Oxford, of any year or course.
We are looking for any students who have demonstrated leadership, commitment, passion and proven social impact. There is no specification about where the student's project(s) is(are) and when it(they) took place, however the panel often prefers to see evidence of recent Oxford or UK impact. Previous Awardees have been recognised for volunteering in the local community, raising funds for charity, campaigning, launching social enterprises and carrying out research on social and environmental issues.
The Application Process
Oxford Hub administers the Vice-Chancellor’s Social Impact Awards scheme on behalf of the University of Oxford.
Step 1: Submit a written application for yourself or nominate a student
To put yourself forward for the awards you can complete this online form before the deadline on the 5th of May.
Alternatively, anyone - whether student, University staff, or someone not associated with the University at all - can use this form to nominate someone for a Vice-Chancellor’s Social Impact Award. We will then contact the individual to congratulate them and invite them to submit some further details about the socially impactful activities they have been nominated them for through the standard form. If you would like to nominate someone, please do so before the 28th April.
Step 2: Shortlisting and interviews
Oxford Hub will then use the details submitted in written application to short-list candidates, and invite them to interview in order to learn more about them.
Step 3: Final decision
Finally, the information from the written application and interview will be put in front of the panel, made up of senior representatives from the University and local community, who will decide on the winners!
Step 4: The Awards
The Awards event will be held on the evening of 6:00-7:30pm Thursday 6th June 2019. Please save the date so that you are able attend.
Oxford Hub is committed to making our activities inclusive to all students. We are more than happy to make reasonable adjustments to application processes, both written and interview. Please get in touch with firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange.
