Information for volunteers
How it works
Working in teams of 3-4, volunteers will be matched with a local social impact organisation and work on a specific brief. The project brief provides information about the next steps the organisation is hoping to take in their impact measurement journey.
This programme runs over 8 weeks, with weekly training sessions at Oxford Hub and project work arranged in your teams. We estimate that it requires 3-4 hours of your commitment each week.
Specifically, the programme partners with youth sector providers based in Oxford City. In the past these have included youth clubs, tutoring schemes, and mentoring programmes to give a few examples. Previous projects have included:
Helping an organisation develop their theory of change.
Evaluating a specific intervention, ensuring that it delivers the impact that it is meant to have.
Developing the tools to help an organisation collect relevant data for their programmes.
Bringing together an impact report for an organisation that has already collected a lot of data.

We welcome applications from all local university students (undergraduates and postgraduates) and members of the wider community here in Oxford. Please note, we often receive applications from more individuals than we can place for this programme. We therefore prioritise applications who can demonstrate a commitment to social impact and an interest in helping young people, for example shown through their previous volunteering experience. We also welcome applications from individuals with research experience, although this is not a requirement as further training will be provided.
We are an inclusive organisation and can make reasonable adjustments to application processes, interviews, training sessions and other activities on a case-by-case basis. We also provide ongoing support for the volunteers we work with, so if you have particular accessibility needs, please do get in touch
To register your interest in taking part in the next cohort of Impact Labs (starting in January 2020) please fill out the following form. We will then be in touch once applications open in December.
